An Eikostioling chattering
inside a warehouse.

The Eikostioling originated from the risks of operating heavy machinery in indoor facilities. The bones that are broken from injuries are enough to make these Borderlings appear.

It resembles a brightly colored worm with five legs. It has an accordion-like body that contracts and expands when it moves. The Borderling's limbs are flexible and strong, connected with cartilage. Bulging yellow eyes make up most of its face. Each eye moves independently from one another. A feathery mane of scales with sensitive whiskers decorate its head. The mane is made out of sharpened and flattened bone. Its claws and beak are of the same material but are condensed enough to be as hard as steel. Its body is made out of bone marrow and calcium from countless different types of vertebrae from Earth and the Externus.

The Eikostioling's flesh is a bright-yellow, frothing foam that has a harsh, citric odor. It sizzles and hardens when exposed to oxygen. The Borderling will leave a dusty residue on anything it touches. It's hard exoskeleton can be broken with a hard concussion, and cannot heal after it has been wounded.

The Eikostioling communicates with high-pitch stuttering chirps and growls, similar to a dolphin or a parakeet. They will screech and hiss if threatened.

An impure Eikostioling will have no differences in behavior and appearance; however, they won't absorb any bone material during its stay on Earth. Because of this, they will be fragile and easily be killed.

Effect on Its Surroundings

Any vertebrate who's exposed to the Eikostioling's 4ft (121.92cm) effect radius will feel their bones getting denser. The longer the exposure to the Borderling, the more bone matter will grow inside their bodies. People with osteoporosis, or any kind of bone deprivation, will lose their disease within 10 minutes. If they stay for longer than 10 minutes, the bone density will become too thick, making their joints stiff. When staying after 40 minutes, their bones will pierce their bodies from the inside-out, causing horrendous pain and complete immobility throughout their entire body.
Other Borderlings that are made out of calcium, or any other bonelike material, will grow in height and weight
when exposed to the Eikostioling. Some of the Borderlings benefit from their growth while others are considered fatal to them. When around fossils, it will have no effect.

An impure Eikostioling will have a weaker effect on vertebrates and bone-related Borderlings, and will have to hunt more bone matter to survive. Because they are incapable of getting the right amount of calcium in their system, along with their hunting behaviors, they will become reckless and will die shortly afterward.

Diet and Behavior

The Eikostioling is a patient yet erratic Borderling. Its locomotion is like that of an inchworm and stalks prey silently with amazing stealth. It carefully moves its hind legs first then its front legs. By lifting its front body, the creature can observe its surroundings. With its claws, the Eikostioling will effortlessly climb on walls and ceilings. Although it's accordion-like body can be noisy, emitting harsh scraping sounds followed by an occasional wheeze, it cannot be heard by individuals originated from Earth. The vocals it makes can only be heard, causing auditory illusions around its vicinity.

The Eikostioling will mimic its surroundings by altering its speech. It is common for it to make a perfect mimicry of any sound without stuttering. The Borderling preys on any vertebrates, and ignore invertebrates. With its strong claws and beak, it tears apart prey larger than its head, around 8 ft in height. Any other prey lower than 7ft will be swallowed whole.

The Eikostioling follows its prey until their bones pierce their body, making them immobile and in great pain. Individuals who are greatly affected by the Borderling are a great opportunity for a hearty meal. The absorption will take 4 to 5 minutes. The Eikostioling will chirp in glee before devouring its victim. The bone material will help thicken the Borderling’s carapace. Muscle, blood, and skin tissue will be disposed of as pink fluid regurgitated from its mouth. After leaving a gory mess behind, the Eikostioling will find a secluded place to peacefully grow and harden. The pink paste will rapidly decay, taking 10 hours until there's nothing left but a green, rancid stain. The gunk is usually assumed to be leftover garbage heap leftover by careless janitors.

The Eikostioling competes in hunting with the Iomechanoling when their paths are crossed. Because of the other

a storage facility.
Soon after the Eikostioling chased the witness to the entrance, it met with an unfortunate end.
Borderling's strong mechanical body, the Eikostioling will not devour them and has to move from its settlement. It will get vulnerable to the other's attacks and will become a victim to the other Borderling if they're caught.
An impure Eikostioling is indifferent in behavior from its healthier counterparts. But their reckless disposition, frail bodies, and increased appetite will cause them great harm.

Habitat, Predation, and Interdimensional Travel

The Eikostioling makes a foamy yellowish vortex when entering our world. It can be found during closing hours in warehouses, storage facilities, or any other large, spacious room. Empty hallways, corridors, lobby areas and office rooms are ideal resting places for the Borderling.
During the first hour, the Eikostioling's exoskeleton will be frail, and it has to find a hiding spot fast before any predators can spot it. When it's time to hunt, it moves to more larger places within the area. As it continues eating bone matter, the exoskeleton hardens. The Borderling will hide in dark places in the building and sleeps during opening hours to allow growth.

If it doesn't go back to the Externus, the Eikostioling's bone growth will cripple it. As it stays in the Earth dimension, it cannot control its exoskeleton's bone growth. After 8 hours, the Borderling's locomotion will become sluggish and jerky until it becomes immobile. After 24 hours, calcium will completely overtake the Eikostioling's body, transforming it into a distorted statue made completely out of bone matter. After a week had passed, the creature will break apart into an unrecognizable heap of dust. Out of that dust pile, a purple egg will be formed. It will hatch into a new Eikostioling within 7 days.

When it's time for the Eikostioling to return back to the Externus, it bites into a nearby wall, letting it's foamy saliva create another portal. The way it tears into the wall make it look like it's making the surface bleed profusely. It makes no hesitation to return to the Externus.
