The Claustronoctiling originated from the belief of monsters that come out at night while people are sleeping. It resembles a terrifying and hairy bipedal creature with no feet and long claws. Its legs and antlers are made out of a mixture of lead and charcoal. Holes spot the Borderling's lower part of its legs. Below its ankles are sharp points. Even though it doesn't have any feet, it can stand on its legs perfectly.

The Claustronoctiling levitates 5 inches off the ground, but it can walk like it does have feet. The hairs on the Borderling's body are actually thin, feathery tentacles. Large tendrils make up its tail, up to 7 or 10 apiece, while thousands make up its fur. Smooth, red fluid drips freely from its fiery, glowing eyes. While its mouth is closed, the Borderling appears to have a small head with a long neck. But in reality, it has a huge, maw with irregularly jagged teeth.  When it opens its mouth, it appears more terrifying,

A faintly glowing sack is attached to the Claustronoctiling's back, which feels similar to human skin. Inside the sack is its own pocket dimension entirely made up of infinite closed spaces.
There is no flesh inside the Claustronoctiling but black, odorless smoke.

The Borderling's  tendrils can be easily pulled apart but will regenerate immediately. More solid body parts, like antlers and legs, can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to heal. A glowing violet symbol hovers above its head.
It doesn't vocalize; however, it makes low, guttural growls that only its own kind would understand. On occasions, they use hand gestures similar to sign language to communicate towards others of its own kind.

An impure Claustronoctiling will have dimmer eyes and a flickering, glitching symbol. Because of this, they are unpredictable and should be avoided at all costs.  The Borderling's smoke is affected by the sickness, turning corrosive as it manipulates the victim they are punishing.

Effect on Its Surroundings

Because the Claustronoctiling doesn't have an Effect Radius, it relies on reading people and other Borderlings' energy fields. Their visibility towards human eyes depends on both the Borderling's judgment and the individuals' moral standing.
A person with a good sense of morality will see the Claustronoctiling as clear as the night sky while those with a bad morality will see nothing at all. When near a person with bad intent, the Claustronoctiling will pursue them effortlessly. Whenever a person runs out of the house, the Borderling will use its teleportation abilities to ambush them when they get close to a door or any other tight place. After they got into reaching distance of the victim, they will grab them by their ankles and open its mouth to 'swallow' them whole. Inside the pocket dimension, they will be immobile and in a fetal position. Space and time won't exist in that dimension and the prisoner of the void won't go hungry or thirsty. After being in this enclosed spaces for a long time, there will be a possibility that they will go insane. If that occurs, the Claustronoctiling will have no other choice but to erase them from existence.

Sentient Borderlings will have the same effect as humans. Despite size differences between Borderlings, the Claustronoctiling will have no effort trapping them in their pocket dimensions. When confronting larger sapient Borderlings, the Claustronoctiling will use the black smoke around it to warp energy frequencies around the victim to compress the other to an appropriate size to swallow. The same type of smoke does allow them to release the Borderling and change it to their original size.

Diet and Behavior

The Claustronoctiling has a stern and wary disposition. Despite their grotesque appearance, they always act neutral and won't take sides.
They walk on their pointy stubs like they have feet. Their tendrils slowly flow outwards like they've been affected by a soft breeze. Only one Claustronoctiling will exist inside a home.
If there were two Claustronoctiling in one room, the healthiest one will replace the other.

The Claustronoctiling are sensitive towards negative energy emitted from sentient creatures, humans and Borderlings alike. If they detect bad energy, the symbol on the orb between they're antlers will immediately change into a red, glowing 'X'. Good energy will change the symbol into a green check. These symbols will appear; otherwise, there will be nothing inside the ominously glowing orb.

Whenever a sentient being imprisoned inside the pocket dimension had a change of heart and show positive feelings, the Claustronoctiling will regurgitate them back out into the Earth dimension. The Borderling will retreat back to its secret place in the room while keeping a stern eye on the person, reading its energy for up to 5 minutes before deciding to leave. If the prisoner still has negative energy remaining in them, however, the Claustronoctiling will return to swallow them whole.

An impure Claustronoctiling can be resilient and has to be restrained by their healthier counterparts' strong tendrils to prevent harm to itself and others. If left unchecked, the corrupt Borderling's lack of judgement will have hazardous results. They will hurt innocent people in the household before capturing them. It will torture the victim that they're punishing. Methods include: whipping with their tendrils, suffocation with their hands or tendrils, and coughing corrosive smoke before swallowing them whole.

Habitat, Predation, and Interdimensional Travel

The Claustronoctiling enters our world with a sound of an opening door followed by a black shadow darting towards a tight place. It always creaks when the invisible 'door' portal opens. Every night, the Borderling can be seen emerging from tight spaces around the household to keep watch for any negative energy.  The list of these places includes basements, closets, underneath beds, pantries, cabinets and tool sheds. It will watch people without showing signs of distraction for a week up to a month before leaving. Whenever there's no trace of negative energy in a living space, the Borderling will ignore any sentient being and enter back into its world.

Because of a reality that corrupted Claustronoctiling will hurt people with positive energy, their healthier counterparts will never hesitate to guard the living space when another door rift opens. If one of the Claustronoctiling dies, the other will drag the corpse to the Externus through these doors. Decomposition lasts a few minutes. The dead Borderling will collapse into black sand and disappear.
When it exits our plane of existence, it makes a sound like a closing door. A sound of a key turning a lock can be heard when an ill Claustronoctiling has been caught.
